The Frodo Sword Sting was a magical sword given to Frodo Baggins by his cousin Bilbo, the original Ringbearer. It is up to Frodo and the chosen Fellowship to cast the Ring back into the fires of Mount Doom, where it was originally forged, and destroy it once and for all. Bilbo gives Sting, made by Elves in the ancient days, to Frodo to serve him on his harrowing journey. Bilbo carried the Sting Sword with him when he originally acquired the Ring from Gollum. The Sting Sword blade glows when Orcs, the violent footsoldiers of Sauron, are present. Engraved on the blade and cross guard are runes in the Elven language of Sindarin that say "Maegnas is my name, I am the spider's bane."

Crafted in the ancient Elven tradition, the blade has a brushed metal finish with a trans-reflective silver coating that looks like metal when it is not activated. The core of the permanently attached polycarbonate blade glows brightly when activated with the flick of a switch. The die-cast metal handle has a wood-grain pattern and silver leaf filigree accents, reminiscent of third age Elfish decoration. The display base looks like carved stone with stands that look like medieval wrought iron to hold the sword in place. It can be adjusted so that your collectible can be displayed on a flat surface or hanging on a wall. The sliding switch on the handle toggles among 3 settings, On, Off, and Orc Mode.
