Shirasaya Swords

By 1867 Japan saw the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate and the resulting Meiji Restoration brought waves of modernization to Japan, which banned the possession of katana as arms except only to the certain privileged classes that formed the new government. As a result the majority of ancient swordsmith had to be creative and they began to conceal the blade of the katana in simple walking sticks; and the soul of samurai lived on.
